Children & Power Rangers!?

My 4 yr old sleeps, breathes, & daydreams about the Power Rangers. At night , he asks for stories about the Power Rangers. He wakes up in the morning and tells us he had dreams about the Power Ranges. All day long, its "The Power Rangers come on at 8pm" I cant wait! Its gotten so bad, that one night even I dreampt about the Power Rangers! I told my son & he was all ears! He calls me Mama Ranger! Of course, I interact play games like I do with other characters. But my question, he starts Kindergarden in Sept, and i would hate it if he went to school talking about them all day long! He is in pre school now and all the boys think they are Rangers! Do you think he will adapt into what his new class will be into?

The best thing about this all, is that he has learned to tell time due to the Power Rangers show, so he knows that at 12pm, he has 8 more hours for P.R. to come on! Do they eventually grow out of it soon?

  1. I think that he might be addicted to power rangers. I think that Kindergarten would like power rangers also. Every boy, some girls in Kindergarten that I know likes power rangers. Well, almost every. I don't know much kindergartners though.

I think he'll grow out of it soon.

  2. My parents where never supportive of Power rangers.  I loved them.  I would watch them when they weren't looking.  You should start making him interested in other programs.  I know this sounds mean but tell him it got cancelled.  He will put on a tantrum but try to get him interested in somthing like Arthur or those show on YTV.

  3. yh they will

    same thing happened to me

i used to love watching all the different power rangers

    but now gone off it

  4. My brother used to be a fan of power rangers. One time, on Halloween, he wore a power rangers costume. But I am sure your son will grow out of it. Sometime, it will hit him," This show is too babyish for me now, I have to move on!"

  5. Yes, he will grow out of it, and move onto something else. This is just his first of many obsessions! When my oldest son was 2 /3 he was into Blues Clues, then it was Power Rangers at 4 just like your son lol, then came The Hulk at 5, then he got really into the Boston Red Sox and NE Patriots at 6/7, and now at age 8 his favorite thing is WWE Wrestling. He has a million wrestling figures, knows all there names and moves, and loves his wrestling video game. My youngest son is 3 and he is obsessed with Dora and Diego. It is totally normal for kids to get really into things, you have absolutely nothing to worry about! He sounds like an average 4 year old!

  6. My son was the same way about Fragle Rock, and he did grow out of it easier than I expected.

Your son sounds like a very imaginative boy and also very bright. It sounds like you have a great relationship with him. Don't worry, he'll do great in school.

  7. my 4 year old son loves power ranger too.

I've now banned him from watching it on tv by locking the channel as all he does is fight like a power ranger with his younger sister. He's not bothered by this.

He's very happy playing with his power ranger figure and mystique morpher phone.

Try and get him interested in other things. lego, drawing, a sport, reading, board games, puzzles etc

  8. My nephew use to love the power rangers when he was growing up.  And to be honest I use to get a big kick out of the show. It reminded me of the old "Ultra Man" shows.   My nephew did grow out of it he is now 20 BUT does have flash backs on his days wearing the pj's and the entire costume with the talking gloves.  Have no fear.... this too shall pass.

  9. He should outgrow it. If it becomes an issue when it is time for school try to explain to him that recess is the place for PR and if it is a problem that you hear about from the teacher, there will be no PR at 8pm.

I remember a girl I went to school with who was Wonder Woman. She would jump off her chair and throw her wrists in the air with her bracelets, she would spin all around the classroom and everything. It was very enjoyable for the kids, not so sure our teacher thought so though..

  10. It is likely that he will be into whatever the Kindergarten class is into, that’s my experience anyway. I am a pre-K and Kinder teachers aid and see a LOT of this, they get over it for the most part. I’m sure he’ll fit into kinder fine.
