Childrens books!?

Question

For my child studies essay I need to mention books that encourage positive social behaviour in children.

The only book I can think of is 'The Rainbow Fish', can you help me by telling me any popular books you know/remember that encourage positive social behaviour? (Eg. Accepting others, sharing, being nice, not lying, not hurting,)

Oh and I am looking for books that kids would read or have read to them between 1-6

You Are Special by Max Lucado,  Hooway For Wodney Wat by Helen Lester, and Charlie The Caterpillar by Dom De Luise. All 3 of these books are ones I have read dozens of times to my own children, and each time, they bring tears to my eyes because the message is so moving and so important for children to hear!

“What Makes Me Happy” by Catherine Anholt

Actually, anything by Catherine Anholt. She mostly writes about feelings, so this gives childen the vocabulary they need to talk about how they feel rather than hitting, kicking etc.

It's about a mother duck and father duck that have several ducklings but one of them isn't as big, as good a swimmer, or as good an eater as the other ducklings and the mother and father nurture it and love it anyway (even though it's "special") & it grows up to be a sweet, happy, healthy duck because the other ducks accepted it and loved it despite it's flaws.
