Chlamydia & infertility question please help ?

I came off the pill after 8 years after deciding wanting a baby. I started to have irregular periods then spotting in between, after several months i went to my doctor then transfered us to hospital for infertility testing.

Surprisingly my test come back positive for chlamydia....to cut a long story short we then got transfered to another hospital for more testing and i was then told i had PCOS. Since then I have been put on Clomid and and had two IUI's, both have failed.

Now am starting to get worried that the STD has caused me problems.

I don't know how long i had it for, and when i had a hsg they told me that one tube that took two attempts to fill and the other had a slight kink in it but nothing to worry about.

I have read that the cillia (hairs in the tubes that helps the egg along) can be damaged, but theres no way for knowing.

My question is will the result always end in an eptopic pregnancy?if the cillias are damaged or will the egg just burst if it gets stuck in the tube?

thanks any feed back much appreciated.

  1. It is hard to predict what the chances of an ectopic are, but you are certainly at an increased risk with the pcos and tube quality.

With the std it certainly didn't help the situation, but as far as making it worse who knows how much that plays into it.  The pcos is for sure what causes infertility.
