Circuit City Insurance?

I had a 600$ laptop and myself and it fell down the stairs and it snapped in half. i bought the insurance plan plus that covers accidental damage. if it is broken beyond repair will i get a gift card for 600 to buy another or are they going to claim its was on purpose? im using my friends now for 2 weeks and i dont wanna get ripped off. the guy at the store said if i can bring half of a computer i can get the card. is this true? has anyone done this?

  1. I hope you have your receipt with your accidental coverage plan in hand. Take it back to the store with the receipt and there should be no problems. If you don't have the receipt and they put your info in the computer at the time of purchase then they can use that as proof of purchase. If you paid with a cc then they can also look it up that way also. If you don't have the receipt they will issue a in store credit if the purchase can be looked up. Hope this helps. Have any problems speak with the manager.


  2. call them, or go into the store.  doesn't hurt to ask.  they should cover it.

  3. Never buy one of those extended warranty/insurance plans. Not only are they worthless but they don't pay up when something does happen. They offer them as a money maker, not to help you out. They will make all sorts of excuses. I do hope you don't encounter that but expect it. Don't call them, go into the store and look at them face to face. Then if they try to s***w you then go ape and go ballistic. They will want to shut you up and satisfy you for the sake of business.
