The Peruvian international has decided to leave the club in the summer after rejecting a new deal from the German outfit.

Werder Bremen had offered the attacker a new deal to stay at the club but Pizarro declined the offer in order to play in the UEFA Champions League from next season onwards.

he retires.
The striker insisted that he has offers from various clubs but has revealed that he is yet to make the decision. He wants to analyse the options and will take a decision in the coming month.
“That was a very difficult decision for me because I feel a great love for the team and this club. But I would like to end my career by doing something different. What that is, I cannot say yet. I have some offers that I have yet
to evaluate,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Bremen sporting director Klaus Allofs added that the club could not convince the striker to stay as he wanted to leave. He insisted that the club holds no grudge against the Peruvian and hailed the striker for
his brilliant performances this season.
“Three times we had managed to convince him to sign for Werder but it was not possible a fourth time. We are very sorry for that, but glad that finally a decision has been made and would like to thank Claudio for the great time
we have had together,” he concluded.
