Does anyone have a cleaning check list that you use or could you make one. One that includes all the little things no one ever thinks about like blindes, base boards, cabinets, windows... Things like that.

  1. Cleaning behind the refrigerator,  scoot it out and sweep & mop

    same with oven.

    A/C / Heating vents - wash them

Clean corners of the wall for cob webs

    Clean ceiling fans

    Clean light covers

    vacuum matress

wash out dog or cat food cans, so trash can won't stink.

as a matter of fact i just cleaned the inside of my refrigerator.

    it looks good!

  2. I do...and I keep it on Microsoft Office Outlook and it is categorized by how often it needs to be done.  Unfortunately, I can't copy and paste it to you...but really, a list like this will be slightly different for everyone.  I like using Outlook because it is easy to update as my needs change and easy to print out my lists, even though it was a bit of a bear to learn how to make Outlook work how I wanted to to.

Another spot to look is at this website:

You can also google "cleaning checklist" and even more sites will pop up.

A classic and entertaining book on the topic is called "Sidetracked Home Executives," by Pam Young and Peggy Jones.  These two reformed slobs evolved a reminder system using notecards to help them stay on top of their housework, and it snowballed into a book and lecture business based on their motto "We change lives with Three-by-Fives."  The back of the book has a list of tasks and suggested frequency.  Their companion book, Side Tracked Sisters Catch up on the Kitchen" covers that area - they hadn't mastered their kitchens when they wrote the first book, lol!  They have some great video resources.

    Their website is:

Pam and Peggy inspired the woman who goes by the title of "Flylady," who didn't do well on the note-card system and evolved a series of routines and what she calls "Control Journals."  She offers a free email service of encouraging and educational essays, testimonials of how people are using her techniques in creative ways to solve their problems, combined with Reminders and Challenges.  People's lives have been totally transformed by applying her principles and using her reminders and by making their own Control Journals.  She also offers some of the most useful products for keeping house that I've ever seen, and I enjoy using a number of them myself.  A lot of testimonials are about how much easier it is to take care of household and parenting tasks as a result of using the tools as well as the principles.

But, even with the "ads," it is an incredibly rich resource for anyone who wants to do a better job keeping up with tasks at home, and to do it with less effort and more consistency and better results.

    Hope this helps!
