I have a bird cage from back when I had my parakeet. It's a decent size, I don't remember the exact dimensions though.
Would it be suitable for a young lovebird? It came from petsmart for around $60 I think. I do know that a bigger cage would be better but I don't have the money to buy a whole new cage right now.
also, when my parakeet died I was pretty upset. I was really attached to him and I couldn't bring myself to clean the cage. I asked my mom to do it, and instead she just went and put it in the garage. This was about 2 years ago. (it wasn't very dirty though). I didn't know it hadn't been cleaned until a few minutes ago when i brought it inside.
Well I just rinsed it all out. Is there anything else I should wash it with? What about rust, theres only a tiny bit on the floor grate? What about the food dish and water bottle? Theres an almost new cuttle bone in there, should I throw it out or will it be safe for the new bird? (I'm probably going to throw out the toys because they had rubber pieces and are all cracked and old)
