Cleansing poem?

The tears wash away the pain

that drives me insane

just like the rain out side my window

falling long and hard, as I empty my soul

staring up at these cold hospital-white walls

thinking thoughts that make my skin crawl

about how lonely a crowd is when no one knows you're there,

about how they would feel if you were to suddenly disappear only to realize

they wouldn't care.

these thoughts terrorize me

as I cry to break free ....................................

  1. Hmmmm, no, 'cleansing' wouldn't be the first word I would use to describe this poem.  It sounds sad.  It sounds like the writer feels trapped in his own skin, like he's not being heard.

  2. Yes, it sounds very cleansing.

  3. Cleansing is too strong a word...wow, I love this!

  4. I don't know about the word "cleansing"  to describe your poem.  All i can say is that i loved it.  You may be the sort of person whose talent comes to the fore, and can express him or herself best when feeling sad and emotional. No matter the reason for writing,  just write when you get the urge to and nurture your muse.  Now you must think of a title to do justice to your poem.
