Clear ipod of songs?

Question

i'm looking to buy an ipod on ebay and was wondering, if i buy an ipod that still has songs on it then how easy is it to delete songs? would i be ableto do it quickly? or would it take forever?

yeah it is easy if that ipod is formated to a thing like mac or windows then it would  be easy....

if the ipod is formatted to apple and you plug it into a windows computer the ipod will do an update and will delete every song.

if the ipod is formated to windows and plugged into a mac it will do the same thing.

but if you connect it to the same thing that the ipod is formatted then you will have to delete every song....... and it is easy. ans fast... you can press shift and arrow down to highlight it then right click then delete. simple
