Clear retainer?

Question

I hate how when I take out my clear retainer, drool will like trail from it to my mouth...it's gross.

I hate taking it out in public like when I go out to eat or something.

How can I take it out without spit trailing from it...

Nothing you can do except suck the spit off as you pull it out...gross i know...careful though they are expensive... many a retainer has accidently ended up in a mcdonalds bin (neatly wrapped in a serviette....)

yeah, i hated those retainers, i just take them out in the bathroom before i eat, or i use a paper towel to cover my mouth before taking them out in public. now i only wear them at night, but i stilll hate them, i think they make my lips peel in the morning

i wore a clear retainer day and night for about a year, but now i just wear it at night. i remember it was so embarrassing taking it out at school and stuff. it sounds gross lol, but it helps to put your tongue behind your teeth and suck the spit in while your taking it out.

I had the same problem.. i hated it so much I stopped wearing my retainer during the day. I regret it now though because my teeth have moved little - even though it's been less than a year.

I used to drink water just before I took it out, or as the other answers said suck the spit up as you take it out. It sounds so gross I know.. but they are just about the only ways to do it.
