Question:

Clippers. Only aiming to attack Warriors?

Well, it seems to me that the Clippers only want to go for Warrior free agents. They were so upset, even though they really didn't show it, on losing Brand and Maggette, the 2 faces of there franchise. Now they're aiming at Azubuike. And for Clipper bandwagoners who jumped on because they thought that it would be a trio of Davis, Brand, and Maggette are now saying, "We get Azubuike, and our bench is going to be much better. We're going to make the playoffs!" Even though they don't know what Kelenna Azabuike is capable of.

Thoughts?

  1. I agree with you. I think because they lost Corey Magnette to Warriors, Clippers have been mad. Clippers have too many guards but they still signed Baron Davis, they have like 4 pg's now lol :)))

  2. Kelenna Azubuike is part of the reason why Golden State decided to part ways with Jason Freaking Richardson.  Golden State needs to match the offer if they can afford it.  They had full intention of bringing him around as their nucleus for the future along with Ellis and Biedrins, and losing him will mean they will need to start from ground zero to find a future cornerstone at the wing.

Edit: It isn't a total BS like you seem to think, to say that Davis and Maggette were never going to play together.  That's exactly the way it was, and that's exactly the way ESPN.com, LA Times, and other media reported it even before the Warriors offered Maggette.  It was Davis and BRAND that they envisioned playing together.  When Davis signed with the Clippers, there wasn't enough cap room left with the Clips to keep both Brand AND Maggette.  So the Maggette days in LA were numbered the moment they signed Davis.  Now they ended up losing both of them, but that's a different issue because Golden State's offer was too good for Maggette to pass up.

You must have only seen some of those clueless Clipper fans on Yahoo Answers who were blowing their horns about Davis, Maggette, and Brand being their Big Three after Davis signed with them.  They said it only because they don't freaking understand what the F is going on with their own team.  Comparing how much cap room the Clippers had before Davis signed and after Brand opted out, versus the market value for Maggette and Brand, is all it takes, and it's a very simple math.

  3. Heh, I've always thought of Maggette and David as stars, but Brand is not by any means capable of defending the best in the NBA. That being said, they MIGHT make the playoffs (EXTREMELY DOUBTFUL, due to the west being just inconceivably amazing. Back to the question at hand: It seems that all teams are looking for good deals, and many teams are over their budget, so yes it might seem that way...

  4. IDC They Suck

  5. They aren't just aiming at the Warriors, they took it to Denver too.....hehe.

  6. What the Warriors are not doing the same?

If they just go after Warrior free agents it

just means they wont make the playoffs.

Warriors will be behind the Clippers next year.

  7. It does seem like the Clippers are on the prowl and the only meat they want is from the Bay. It's yo-yoing action between the two teams. Baron to LAC, W's offers to Brand and getting Maggette, and now Clips' offer to Buike. But NBA basketball is all about business and you can't get mad at the Clippers for trying to improve their roster. Everyone does it.

And to what you said about Azubuike...

I have to agree with what? and say it really seems like you don't like him. He's a solid player who can still develop. I most certainly would not say that he's turnover happy. Sure he's had some but, then again, who hasn't? He can shoot 3's and if you watch the games, you can see that Kelenna actually goes to the basket to try to get rebounds. He's a hardworker and athletic and has a good attitude. Not once have you seen him angry about a call. He doesn't show too much emotion and stays calm for the sake of the game. I would like to get him signed back onto the Warriors.

  8. Look, Clippers will always be Clippers. Enough said. Anyways of course Warriors will match. We offered 17m for a 4 year contract to Ronny Turiaf, why wouldn't we offer that much to Azubuike? Azubuike is a great player, can shoot 3's, dunk, rebounds, etc...He's a great Bench player and he will come back to GS Warriors because he's young and fits the Warrior playing style, no way we're going to lose him over a silly $9 million 3 year contract. h**l, probably we'll throw $5 million per year in the his face.

  9. well im going to agree and disagree. unlike everyone else who answered, im knowledgeable about the nba and especially about the warriors. i do feel like the clippers are trying to s***w with the warriors just like how we did with them. it's just going back and forth. baron went to LA, we counter by offering brand something he and his agent didnt think he would get thus making him hold back on signing with LA and then philly came in and finished it. we sign maggette and now they go after azubuike.

i get the feeling that you dont like azu too much from what you wrote. i for one feel like he would be an excellent bench player and is capable of being a starter for another team without as many wingers as the warriors. if azu gets more time he will learn and gain experience. he shot abour 44% which is good. he is a good 3 pt shooter and a terrific rebounder and very athletic and a very hard worker. seems to be a good character guy, very humbled after being in the dleague. i want to see the warriors match the offer the clips offered since he is restricted. it's only 3 mill a year so it's not too much. and dont worry about not having enough cap space to sign monta and andris back. we will. a lot of people dont understand the salary cap and luxury tax stuff so they make S**t up. even after signing maggette, turiaf, and maybe azubuike, there is still money to sign andris and monta.

  10. what the h**l are you talking about?

GS went after Maggette and Brand after Baron jetted GS even though GS could offer more money. HE TURNED DOWN 17 mill to leave. They're begging anyone to take Harrington for a point guard. Kelenna is a really good player and given more playing time he'll be quite effective for whoever team gets him. He's has a high basketball I.Q. with room to grow as a player.

Camby is mismatch? how so? he can play the four or the five like he's done his whole career. how is he overmatched? HAHA LMAO... HARRINGTON BETTER THAN CAMBY??!!!! ah hahahahahahaaaa.... hey you should stop with basketball and keep your day job as a comedian. let me know when al harrington wins an award or goes to an all-star game.

and yes... Brand was a surprise that he left because it was believed that he was gonna stay... but everyone knew Maggette was leaving no matter what. Him and coach Dunleavey never liked each other.

I'm not even close to being a Clipper fan... i just apparently read news articles unlike you, who seems perfectly fine making up false facts and information.

EDIT: whatever makes you feel better. Including believing in your own B.S.

EDIT again... see below. those guys know whats up. Of course G.S. is better then the clips. but what type of reward is that?

  11. The Clippers took Baron Davis from them and it seems The Clippers arent done attacking the Warriors 2 Bad for them

    *GO SIXERS*

  12. you are making up news bud. no one believed for a second brand davis and maggette would be together k. you are a heartbroken warriors fan who is angry baron left and now driven to hate the clippers. Azabuike is a free agent, restricted or not, anything goes. welcome to the jungle.

  13. The Dub's will still dominate the Clipps this year.
