why do they put you on clomid? is it because you dont ovulate?

it can be for a number of reasons

but yes clomid does / can help you ovulate if you don't ovulate by yourself if you have something such as pcos

some people do take it if they are ttc with as well even if they ovulate on there own just to give them a 'boost'

Doctors usually prescribe Clomid for 3 main reasons:

1) That you do not ovulate on your own

2) That you ovulate but it is a weak ovulation or you have unexplained infertility and they are hoping that clomid will cause a stronger ovulation that they can time.

3) Prescribed to men to try to increase sperm count / hormone levels.

I was put on clomid for my pcos. To help with ovulation, I think is probably the most common reason people use clomid.
