Question:

Clothes line in the garage?

I am wanting to put up a clothes line, but I cannot put one up outside. I am wondering if anyone that has one or has set one up in their garage. I have a 2 car garage that usually has only 1 car in it. Where/how should I set it up? Along a wall? Across the garage? Pulley system?

Thanks for your advice/help!

  1. I use one indoors - very successfully. You can put one in the garage if you don't put the car in at the same time. Just put stout hooks in the wall and zig zag across. You can get retractable ones which may be the ideal for you.

  2. put them on the roof.

  3. the exhaust from the car will ruin your clothes.

hpw about one across the bath tun?  you can get a tension rod, or run a line across

  4. Seems like a lot of work... I have a stainless steel clothes rack/sorter... It's very sleek and nice... I have no problem rolling it around and sorting my dirty laundry in the 3 washable canvas bins, or hanging shirts, pants etc.. from the bar.. It even has a spot to store/dry shoes on top... I keep it in my laundryroom.. .If I need something dried I'll run a small fan or open the basement window to circulate air... The rack was around $50 a BED BATH and BEYOND I went to the store used a coupon AND had it shipped to my house...It's very, very convenient and nice...

    Good luck

  5. clothes usually collect dirt along the wall.. i think across the garage is the best bet... make sure you don't overload the line...
