i need clues or evidence that can prove bipedalism

  1. Valgus knee joint is the biggest give-away.  This allows the knee to lock, like we do when we take steps.  Also the angle that the femur makes with the pelvis.  Bipedalism requires that the knee joint is actually beneath the pelvis.  So the femur angles itself in, towards the center of your body, to support your weight.  It then bulges out a little bit below the knee.


  2. I heard once that the neck of the femur is thicker in its superior aspect in bipeds...you know, on x-ray.  Has to do with the stress put on it during walking, I guess.

  3. presence of femur (thigh bone), broadness of pelvis, arms shorter than legs, five curves in vertebral column, foramen magnum shifted forward and downward, fingers of the feet in axis with the big toe.

  4. Knee joint and set the of leg into the pelvic socket. ( ball joint )
