Question:

Co-Worker Problem, HELP!!!!?

I came into the department about 3 yrs ago, while my co-worker has been in the department for about 4-41/2 yrs. I have been given the responsibilty for more than half of my co-workers previous responsibilities. This took place more than 2-1/2 yrs ago. My co-worker is still stepping on my toes when it comes to doing my job. This person just cannot let go. I have spoken to my supervisor, and they laid down the law about who is responible for what. My co-worker obviously did not listen to a word of what was said. I am constantly finding out that this person has gone behind my back and even sometimes right in front of me to field issues for my portion of the job. Answering questions for things they have not had authority over for almost three yrs, and then does not tell me. I don't know if they are threatened by my advancement and success, or they just can't give up the authority, but it is really driving me crazy. I need to know if anyone has advice for what I should do.

  1. If the person has not gotten it through their head, even when the supervisor has already talked to them, I would not even bother with speaking to the coworker yourself.

Speak to your supervisor again and inform him/her that things are still going on.
