Code Geass back story?

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if there was any avid watchers of the anime "Code Geass" that comes on, on saturday night during Adult Swim on Cartoon Network? The thing is I watch everything else that comes on adult swim except that show. I avoided it religiously because i thought it looked lame :) but i actually watched it last night and it was really good. Unfortunately since i used to avoid the show so much I really don't know what's going on.

Could anyone that watches the show give me a quick back summary of what its basically about? I would really appreciate it. Also it doesn't have to be really detailed just tell me the basic of basic in a couple of words if you like!

Lelouch Lamperouge is a teenager living in the Holy Britanian Empire's colony, Area 11 (formerly Japan) in the near future.  One day he gets caught up in a situation between rebels/terrorists trying to get back Japan's independence and Britanian soldiers trying to recover a secret capsule that the terrorsits highjacked, thinking it was a weapon.  It turns out a girl named C.C. was in it and that certain high-rank Britanians were trying to cover her up.  She then gives him the power of Geass.  She says its the power of the kings but whoever it is bestowed upon will live in solitude.  Lelouch then vows to use his Geass to destroy Britania.

Here is a brief synopsis so you have an idea what is going on:

Code Geass starts in the year 2010 and takes place in an alternate universe where the Holy Empire of Britannia, an international superpower, has conquered more than a third of the planet. The world is, for the most part, divided between it and two other superpowers: the Chinese Federation and the Euro Universe.  The three powers are relatively balanced for the first part of the series. The balance shifts in the second season. The E.U. has much of its territory conquered by Britannia while Lelouch creates a revolution in the Chinese Federation as well as a new alliance of countries called the United Federation of Nations, thus reducing the number of superpowers to two.

The main character, Lelouch Lamperouge, is a young man who wages war against the Holy Empire which is by his tyrannical father. He fights as the infamous Zero in order to bring down the empire and restore Japan to its former glory.

After the invasion of Japan by the Brittannian Empire, the country is renamed to "Area 11". The young Lelouch, now a Brittannian student living in Japan, accidentally gets caught up in a local terrorist attack against Brittannia, reuniting with his childhood friend Suzaku as well as meeting the mysterious girl C.C. Cornered in a life and death situation, Lelouch accepts a power C.C. offers to him, the ability to order anyone to do anything. Harboring a thirst for revenge against the Brittanian Empire for their actions against his family, Lelouch wages war against the Empire. Using his newfound power and tactical ability, Lelouch goes under the alias Zero in attempts to fulfill his childhood vow, to destroy Brittannia.

Well, pretty much Lelouch is this boy who lives in a world where this place called Britainia rules over. So a girl named C.C. gives him a power called the Geass so he can use it to lead a rebellion against Britiania.
