Cokatiel help about taming

i need help i have a cockatiel and it is really hard to tame ive had him for a 2 months and he hasnt warmed up to me ive tried taming but hes really hard to get his attention ive clipped its wings and gave him lots of toys and change his water and food every day.any tips . i cant teach him the up trick because he runs or then bites.and if i open his cage he starts feeling threatened and hides. ive tried using food but that doenst work. ive takin him out of his cage but then starts running away in a corner and of the room and if u get near him he hisses. i can hand feed him

  1. You need to establish senority. We have a cockatiel we had the same problem with, and on occassion still do. First of all. take away the food. Give your bird food every other hour for only 20 mins. then take it away. Also, use a towel or in your birds case, a wash rag is big enough. Wrap the bird, hold him next to your chest, sit and stay calm. Birds love to be whispered to, and caress his head. By doing this you take the power of aggression away by making a statement that you are the boss. You are the one in control. Cockatiels can be quite aggressive. But with time and patience you can break him.
