Do you have to have legal documentation of your seperation to not have your husband's income considered to determine if you are eligible for pell grants?

  1. Everything with financial aid is situational. In my office, you would mark seperated,the date seperated and just put your income. We do not require any additional information.

    If you have filled out your fafsa already and are awarded then you would have to submit a special conditions application, and at that point need to have proof.

    Speak with your schools financial aid department to see what they want you to do, they should be more than happy to help you.
