College in America?

I wanted to start college in America in August but things are going a little slow.

So.

If i wanted to start in January would i be able to enter the country a few months before?

Usually you can't enter the country more than a month before but the best thing to do would be to contact the American embassy/consulate where you live, as they would be able to give you more precise answers.

If you have a student visa and an I-20, then you may enter the United States no more than 30 days prior to the 'report date' stated on your I-20.

If you have no I-20 and/or no F1 visa, then you are going nowhere.
