Comcast vs Verizon FiOS?

We have Comcast at present and was thinking about changing over to FiOS. Except for that the sales person left out a few details, like when she said they would be here between 8 and 5, she failed to mention that thats how long the installer said it would take him to do it. So I opted to reschedule and while I figure the next best time, I would get some other views about the change over. So please feel free to tell me the pros and cons.

The tech will be there for several hours because a new ONT and battery back up (bbu) will be installed along with a new fiber optic cable will be run from the pole to your home.  The tech will also set up your Internet (if ordered) program all your set top boxes (stb), as well as the best TV settings for your viewing system.  Your dial tone will also be taken off of the copper and moved to the fiber.  Having FIOS means that you will have your own direct line from your home to the CO (central office), and you will not be sharing your signal with anybody.  If you have cable Internet and sometime experience slowdown at specific time that is why, you are sharing your signal.  I also like that with FIOS the fact of if you ever loose your power you will still have dial tone because of the bbu, that is if you have a non cordless phone.  The best thing about FIOS I have to say is that they use a proud union work force, not contractors that get paid by the job.  You can be sure that your job will be done the the highest standards.
