Computer Local Area Connection 4?

Why does my local area connection 4 have a caution mark and says that my internet may not work? And why isnt my connection repairing? For some reason it says it cannot repair, what do I do?

  1. all the things ejdbroke told you are right, just here is one more

    tryo to go system, then hardware and device manager and look for the network adapters, if you see one turned off, just turn it on and if it has a question mark you maybe need to reinstall drivers


  2. Could be a few things.  How many computers in your network?  Just one connected directly to your modem?  Or multiple PCs connected to a router?

    If you right click Local Area Connection 4 and go properties then in the box find "tcp/ip".  Highlight it and click properties.  In most cases you will want both of the buttons to be set on "get automatically".  Check this first.

    Next go to start, then run and type cmd and hit enter.  This will bring up a command window.  Type: ipconfig and hit enter.  What is the info there?  If the IP address starts with 169, thats bad.  Let us know if thats the case.
