Computer connection problem?

Question

can only connect to yahoo. no other web pages. tried: system restore, reboot, spy checker, anti-virus, fire wall up & down, checked plugs, did repair, disable and re-able internet connection, reset internet explorer settings.

the local area connection status says ...Status: connected... Speed: 100.0 Mbps

don't have the XP disk anymore.

how can it be fixed? what should I do?

try using firefox. Download it on another computer and save it to a removable media. Then tranfer the installer to your computer and install it. To learn winodows hacks go to my profile.

could be the winsock file is corrupt, search yahoo for XP winsock repair download using another computer, then run on yours, added the full article to help below

try to use another web browser like firefox.. also check in the properties of  internet explorer web browser it could be your security settings or proxy settings
