Computer pasting?

what does it mean to paste something on the computer? And how do you go about ir?

highlight text, right click, click copy, click on another empty spot, click paste

If you're in chat, or most ANYPLACE where you type something, you can paste some text you've copied from someplace else.  You hold down your left mouse button at the beginning of something you want to copy and drag your mouse over it to selected it.  Then you click on Ctrl C to copy, or File, copy.  Depending on what you're copying to paste, there are different methods of selecting the text.    You go to where you want to paste the text and do Ctrl V or File, paste.  It's really almost impossible to have a computer and not need to copy and paste... whether its on the internet, or using applications like Word.
