how do ichange the screen when you log in how do you change the back ground i have windows xp

the background, just go to the desktop and right click. I think it is under personalize, then you'll see options to change your background.

Control panel

Click the display icon

Click appearance

Click the browse tab to find what you want to use for your wallpaper, then click apply. That will now become your new wallpaper

I have Windows XP.  Choose a clear space on your desktop and right-click your mouse and then click on Properties.  Click on the Desktop tab and choose a background from the list provided - also look at Position and Color at the right of the window.  Or, if you click on Browse, you can choose a picture from your "My Pictures" folder to use as the background - you can even download an image/picture from the Internet to your "My Pictures" folder and use it as your background.
