I lost my recovery disk for my Compaq computer...is there a place where I can download somethin for free?

they can also talk you through a reinstall from your hard drive.

Just contact hp/compaq and they can send them to you, they did for my sister for free. You cannot download them for free anywhere, unless your computer has a built in recovery drive to create this disk, then you can do it that way, minded that you didn;t already do that, as they can only be created once.
