Concerned about termites :(?

Question

I went in my kitchen and saw what looked like black termites or ants with wings crawling through the window! Does that mean I have an infestation somewhere? I also noticed they went away when I turned my light off, so does that mean they only come out becaust they are attracted to light?

The small black termites are called swarmers. They show up when the colony has reached its full capacity. A termite swarmer looks alot like a fliing ant only the wings are larger than the body on a swarmer and ants have wings that match their bodies. Termites swarm during certain times of the year when the moisture and warm of the season are right. If you have swarmers then you should call and get a termite inspection to find the total of the damages.
