  1. Once you get past the hiragana and katakana and also kanji. The sentence structure is so easy and simple-unlike English. I just found the no spaces in sentences a slightly annoying.

Although other than that it is a fun an greatly enjoyable language to learn if you are willing to assert yourself.

  2. First of all, if you know other languages, learning new ones tends to be easier.

Any language could be a "kick-butt language" if you are interested in it.

Japanese is quite difficult for English-speakers. People always mention that kanji are difficult however, I think the most difficult part is the grammatical differences. Japanese is an SOV (subject-object-verb) language, while English is an SVO (subject-verb-object) language. The particles also make Japanese more difficult. Kanji are time-consuming to learn, but not necessarily difficult, I think. Hiragana and katakana are quite easy to learn.

If you are committed, you can learn it. I think having a teacher or someone who knows the language is good to correct your grammar.

  3. Well if you mean conversation wise it is fairly easy to learn and speak. But try learning all the Kanji, Katakana, Hiragama and your opinion will quickly change. (@ @  )

  4. i am still learning japanese.....

    it is interesting!!

  5. I think Japanese is cool, and easier to learn than say, English. That's because all the vowels are pronounced the same way, for the most part, unless with an extra vowel, like oo or uu. In the English language, cow and show have a different vowel, so no wonder there's more dyslexic Americans than spanish-speaking and japanese-speaking people!
