Question:

Concert for pianists under 18?

Hi,

I am a pianist, 15 years old in a few weeks, and I would like to know if there is anywhere I would be able to perform, because I am trying to build up confidence for my performance. I am around, maybe above grade 8 standard and am doing my exam soon. I am learning a song called the Hungarian Rhapsody no. 2 by Franz Liszt.

Thank You

  1. Go to your local youth orchestra, and volunteer to play concerto's with them, they're always looking for talented pianists. Then things will lead on from there hopefully, they could then reccomend you to a higher orchestra. Solo stuff would be hard to do, as you're so young atm, and dont have an agent. But you could call your local theatre and see if they have any slots for classical musicians. I know my local library theatre has 'Musical Mondays' where classical musicians perform.

    Good Luck x
