Conflict Mediator?

I have to write an essay about a conflict in which there are two different sides. I must describe both sides and then it is my job as the conflict mediator to configure a reasonable compromise for both sides. But I cannot seem to find a topic to reasearch and write my essay on. Please give me some suggestions. Ex. war in Iraq, But the war in Iraq cannot be used
