Question:

Connecting camcorder to computer?

I have a panasonic camcorder with a camera in it. I can't take the memory card out of the camcorder and put into the computer because there is no slot for it so I have to use the usb cable. I plugged the usb cable in and it does nothing. How do I get it to work so I can get the pictures onto my computer?

  1. Hello..

Unlike Firewire connection, which is part of windows, the USB connection needs a driver. If you've got then camera as a new one with all accessories, there should be CD with this particular driver and usually even some software for transfer/editing img.

If not, go to panasonic website and try to find a driver for USB transfer there (depending on  model # of your camcorder)

But... my suggestion would actually be - go to Radioshack and buy $20 card reader which you plug (with NO DRIVER NEEDED if you run XP or Vista, driver for ME and 98 will be included in the package) into your USB port and there you can plug your memory card and work with it like another drive in your comp.

    Have fun.  Johnny

  2. Have you consulted Panasonic support???
