Question:

Connecting to network issue?

My main computer (Windows Vista) has a Linksys Wireless Router (Model WRT110) that creates my wireless network. Currently I have a second computer (Windows XP) that has a RangePlus Wireless PCI Adapter (Model WMP110) and it connects to the network fine.

My third computer (Windows XP), however, has a Wireless-B PCI Adapter installed and CAN see the network. The problem is when I try to connect to it, my computer restarts and when I log back in, I am notified that I recovered from a serious error.

My router and both of these adapters are all of the Linksys brand. My Router and RangePlus Adapter, though, are noted on the boxes they came in for working "good/excellent with Wireless G/N." Is it possible that my second adapter, being Wireless-B, is the reason why my third computer restarts when it tries to connect to my network? If you come to this conclusion... is there anyway to fix the problem without purchasing a new adapter?

  1. Update the drivers for your third computer's Wireless adapter.

Just go to linksys website and download the appropriate driver. This should fix the problem!  ; )
