Consequences of accusations?

I'm accused of conspiracy, and breaking (and entering) into a building.

I have a meeting with a random guy, that's supposedly going to settle the stuff off the court.

What's going to happen? I'm pretty positive I'm getting community service or something. How much time? If not Community service, what then?

FYI, I live in Quebec, Canada.

committed  what you are being accused of?

If it's your first time, I don't think you'll go to jail. It's very probable you'll get probation, maybe some community time plus court fines to pay. And a record, of course.

Alright, here are some helpful hints on what helps and hurts you:

Your record - if you've got no record, prosecutors will be happily disposed to give you a good offer, plead guilty to a reduced charge and get less than the maximum penalty - maybe less jail, maybe no jail at all, maybe community service or a crime.  Some crimes come with a mandatory minimum jail term - but those are tyoically high-end felonies or felonies committed by people with existing felony records.  You provide no info on your record, so that's as specific as I can get.

The offense - and no, "conspiracy" does not nail it.  While conspiracy is its own separate offense (murder and conspiracy to commit, etc) a jurisdiction may have numerous different grsdes (degrees) of the offense (likely linked to what you were conspiring to do).
