Contact lens question....?

Ok so i'm ordering my contacts for the first time on 1800contacts.com

I wear Acuvue Oasys, but I want the the colored ones. So i'm ordering Acuvue 2, but the problem is, when I order and put in my information, it doesn't have one of the options that I need.

It asks for the BC, which i've learned means base curve. However, it only gives me 2 options for some reason...8.3 and 8.7...on my box of contacts, my BC is 8.4...

Is it possible to substitute and get the 8.3? Or would that be bad?

  1. If your dr only fit you with Oasys, you're not gonna be able to get the AV2....1800contacts will send an rx confirmation to your dr before they sell the contacts to you and the dr office will reply saying that you weren't fit with AV2....easiest and best thing to do is go back to your optometrist and ask to be fitted with color contacts as well and the dr will give you another rx for it with all the info needed to order

  2. It is always better to ask your optometrist, however, order 1 or 2 boxes of 8.3.

  3. This is a question you need to ask your optometrist, since I'm pretty sure that you're not going to find anyone on Yahoo! Answers who is going to know this for sure... and would you trust their advice anyway? Contact lenses are a medical device, and you don't want to inadvertently damage your eyes.

I'd advise against just getting the contacts. Wait until you can call your eye doctor.
