Contracts in MLB the Show 08?

Question

Last year's version in franchise mode, you could view your roster and see who's contract was going to end soon. I feel like if I remember correctly, you could press x and a screen would appear concerning a contract. Now, when you press x, the screen goes to editing the player...How do you propose a contract extension during the season?

I actually just noticed that the other day and I don't know why.  I remember being able to offer extensions as well in last years.  I don't know if you can in this one. I'm not sure.  I'll check later when I'm home and if I figure anything out, I'll update my answer or email you or something.  Sorry I couldn't be of more help now.

The agents, player, and team management get together and talk about it.
