Converting Propane Furnace to Electric Furnace?

I am having a home windmill put in and with propane running me 2100.00 a winter. windmill will make 2.6kwph at 12mph. Will i have to buy 1 or 2 electric furnaces for a 2700 sf house.

Bob, 2.6 KW is only about 9000 BTU.

I think the smallest whole house electric furnace or plenum heater would be 5 KW or 17000 BTU

I don't know what area of the country you live but you would need a bigger generator.

You need to know what your heat loss is for your home in your area to start with so you don't spend a lot of time and money for something that isn't going to provide you much heat.

You could roughly go by your existing furnace output BTU but many times they are a bit over sized.

Say its a 70,000 BTU output  that is equal to a 20 KW electric heater.
