Converting from seconds to microseconds?

A particular computer can do 261.8 megacalculations per second. How many calculations can it do in a microsecond?

I've tried doing it by converting seconds into microseconds, but that isn't the right answer. I noticed that it asks for calculations and not megacalculations. So I would like to know how to convert this.

I'm guessing I convert seconds into microseconds. which would be 1 sec=1 000 000 microseconds

and then mega is a prefix for 10000000

so I'm guessing the answer is 2.618E3

but I'm afraid it may be wrong... is it?

For my class, we have 5 tries, and I've already used up 3, so I would like to be sure that it's right.
