Question:

Cooks Job In France?

I am looking into moving to France for a year or so to work as a cook. I have attended culinary college here in Canada, and am a registered appretice. I would like to find an employer in France to hire me on, and help set me up with some kind of lodgings. Can someone please email me some places that I can look into. Location does not really matter to me just the opportunity to work in France as a cook is very appealing.

Thanks.

  1. I was wondering if you are aware that the apprenticeship program in France is a highly regulated, government sponsored system which is part of the formal national educational system?

In one sense this is good because, as part of the educational system, it will give you the right to apply for a visa as a student. Without the status of student you would be just another  foreigner seeking a work permit and long stay visa which, quite frankly, would probably not be granted.

On the other hand this means its not just a matter of finding out which restaurant is hiring.
