what are the observable properties of magnesium ribbon?

what do you observe if i put the Mg ribbon inside the crucible and heat it until the magnesium ribbon is burnt? what is your observation after ignition?

Highly flammable. Burns with a bright white light. Leaves a whitish ash behind.

Burning magnisium emits a very bright light. After that, white powder will be produced.
