Hi, I'm using Nero 7 Essentials. I've used Nero 8 before also and have been having the same problem.

I copy a cd, but the copying process takes so long ! normally i can burn cds very quickly, but i dunno, whenever i copy one, especially a dvd that's full to it's capacity. it takes so long, I set it to copy at max speed but it'll be like copying at 890kb/s or 1560 kb/s ,

what can i do to speed it up ?

  1. Coping DVD I always use AVS DVD Copy. It copies personal home video in the original quality.

    I download the software from:

Unbiased reviews and side-by-side comparisons of the DVD copy give you enough information to research the ins and outs of a particular product:

Also, you can google some other software:

  2. The copy process is actually made up of 2 steps.

The first step makes a copy of the DVD/CD to your computer.

The second step then burns that copy on your computer to the DVD/CD.

If you computer can normally burn quickly then maybe it can not read the disk as fast as it can write it.  Then it could be your Disk Drives and you may need to upgrade.  Sometimes background processes can slow down speeds, try closing other running processes/programs.

Nero has been weird with me before too, another thing you could try is re-installing it or adjusting your settings.
