  1. By Gas i take it you mean petrol rather than the gas we use to heat our homes ?OK petrol in my town is currently selling at £1 . 20pence per litre or over £5 per gallon ( that equates to over 10US$ per gallon ) so its not cheap , like most things over here it is bloody expensive. enjoy your visit.

  2. 116.6 p per liter.

  3. The 'gas' you refer to is known as petrol in the UK - it is sold at the pumps (in a petrol station) in litres and is currently around £1.20 per litre.

    That makes a UK gallon equal to 1.2 x 4.546 = £5.45 = $11

    and for comparison a USA gallon would be 1.2 x 3.785 = £4.54 =$9

UK money is similar to the USA - in that as you have 100 cents to a dollar , we have 100pence to a pound - so 116p equals £1.16p

  4. About £1.18 per litre (UK£ = US$1.96 appx).

Beware of the gallon prices quoted below though - the imperial (UK) gallon is bigger than the US gallon.

However you measure the difference it's still b****y expensive compared to the States!

  5. Gas as in petrol, or household gas?

If you mean petrol, it's about £1.20 a litre at the moment. That means it's about £6 a gallon, which is about $12 a gallon

It depends on how much you're planning on driving, and how big the car's engine is. If you're planning on visiting the highlands etc, you'll need a decent car, probably with 4 wheel drive, so its engine will be much bigger and with use more petrol

    --Edit--

Petrol prices will also depend on where about in Scotland you are. The more inaccessible places will charge more- for example, the islands.
