Costa Rica Trip?

I am 13 and my class is going on a Costa Rica trip in two years. The cost is $2,727 dollars for one week. It includes airfare, food, a hotel, park admissions, transportation, a bilingual guide on the entire trip 10,000 insurance and a great experience. My parents think it's too much... What's your opinion? Any ideas?

  1. it too expensive even of you say  $2,727  per month

    I agree with this guy

I went to Costa Rica last   you can trimmed thoses cost

  2. It sounds like you're probably talking about the Worldstrides costa rica trip, right? Thats the one I'm going to go on. Anyway, you can probably go to costa rica on your own for cheaper, but what you're paying for here is all the behind-the-scenes experiences. Think about it, how many regular tourists get to help conduct wildlife surveys and all the other fun stuff worldstrides does with you? In my opinion, it's TOTALLY worth it!!!!

  3. It sounds a bit high, because Costa Rica is generally a cheap place to travel. My boyfriend and I are going for eight days and have only spent about $650 apiece for flight and hotel (mid-range hotel -- not super classy, but clean and safe, etc.). Of course we will have more expenses when we are there (food and activities) but aren't expecting the trip to be more than about $1000 apiece. You are probably getting some extras in terms of the bilingual guide, maybe more park admissions, etc. than we'll have (we plan on hanging out at the beach a fair amount), and insurance. Also depends on where you're flying out of -- we live in LA so it was easy to find a cheap flight.

But, if you can talk them into it, it will definitely be an awesome experience! Since it's two years away, maybe you could arrange with them that you'll pay a certain amount, and if you manage to save up your share, they will throw in the rest? Maybe they could give you money for extra chores, etc.
