Costume for Henry VIII?

I have to create a costume for King Henry VIII for a history poject. we're allowed to buy stuff just not super expensive stuff. does anyone have any ideas for what i could wear. it would be GREATLY appreciated! thanks

  2. Henry the Eighth was considered the most attractive prince of Christiandom, but lately he wouldn't be considered all that attractive. He had red curly hair, so a short red curly wig, not clown red, but somewhat orange would be useful. You might want to stuff whatever costume you choose to wear with padding, because in his later years he grew pretty fat. He wore lots of adornments, like jewelry, so costume jewelry like large and showy necklaces would be appropriate. Also, you could wear a fake sword and long coat, something that looks like velvet. Usually, he would wear a doublet and tunic, but since these would be hard to find now, a belted flowy dark dress would probably do nicely. Hope that helped at all.
