  1. No but u could damage a component, switch it off


  2. Not likely to kill you, but you could damage the Sky box when your cutters short circuit the conductors in the cable.

    Why do you want to cut it anyway? Just unscrew it from the LNB and make sure that you disconnect it from the Sky box before starting work. Then the problem won't arise.

  5. No. Its Co-ax cable and only carries a very small current

  6. No but it does carry a small current from the Sky box to the LNB, not sure why you want to but unplug the Sky box before you start work.

  8. No, but if the box is still plugged in, there is a good chance that you'll blow something in there.

    The thumb downers know better than me, I'm only an Electrical Engineer by trade.
