Question:

Could I have anxiety problems?

I'm in the 9th grade and I recently started school.Every time I go I get freaked out and I have a thousand thoughts going through my mind.When I think about school I get really scared and start crying. I've had no other problems with going before,it all just started recently.I'm not sure if I should go to a doctor or what to do,i'm so freaked out it's ruining my school work.

It could be - even if it isn't you need to seek support so that it doesn't get any worse.   At the very least find someone who can give you guidance as to coping skills and new strategies.    Tell your parents how you are feeling, talk to the school counsellor or form room teacher.   Mention to your family doctor.   Have you been bullied or harassed at school?    Are you having trouble making friends?   Are you making some time for relaxation or sport?   Seek support from people who care about you.   Take care.

  3. Yes you could.  Is this a new school you are attending?  Sometimes with new experiences it's normal to feel this way.  Give it a little time and if it doesn't get better, go see a doctor.

It sounds like anxiety, but im no doctor, you did mention that you are a freshman, so I'll assume that you have started a new school with group of new people. you may just need to relax and re-a just. starting high school is ruff, you're faced with looking at adulthood your future but don't worry. by the middle of your first marking period you should feel i little more comfortable and have a grip on everything G/L

    I started out taking prozac 20mg daily.. then it dropped to 10mg and now I am just taking 5mg and still doing very well. I might be considering taking medication off my life.
