  1. Yes, anxiety can be genetic. However, it can also be learned. We learn behaviours from what we see.  There are a few things that I would consider telling you to do.

First would be to cut out all sugars from your diet and switch to whole grains... sounds crazy, but it works.

Then I would suggest that you get some lavandar oil and smell that.  Take nice deep breaths.. It works, and yes, it does sound crazy, but it does work.

  3. I agree wirh "C M", anxiety is very genetic and is also learned- it's a behavioral disorder. It also seems like EVERYONE has anxiety of some sort.

You can tell if you have it if it's something that you cannot turn off. If you can talk yourself out of your worry with reason you may have the mental capacity to work through it- it just takes time and dedication to learn how.

My anxiety feels like terror. It's not just excessive worry, it's constant panic and fear. It's just as physical to me as it is mental. If you have a lot of body aches, chest pain, muscle tension, shortness of breath... you may have more reason to be concerned.

Tell your mom to look for state provided health insurance and look online for mental health clinics. If you find one near you, tell them you have no insurance and ask what they can do to help. Some places offer a "sliding scale" where that adjust the fees so you can afford them and some may be able to tell you if there's a place you can go that's free.

Don't let your symptoms take over your life. catch it now and get help so you can take care of yourself- and your mom and brother.
