Question:

Could you fold this?

I had a pair of aces, trips came on the turn. After the flop and after the turn, I bet 50% of the pot. One guy stays in, and on the river, a 3rd spade comes out. He bets large. Could you fold trip aces if you were sure he had a flush?

  1. First I would of bet 100% of the flop to take the blinds and to keep him from the flush draw. I would go all-in even with trip AAA he could have the flush but have small cards not knowing if you had the A high flush and fold. If he's bluffing you win. If he's a fish you win.  Hard call. I wouldn't lay it down. Tell me what happened please.

  2. if i was absolutely positive that he had it, then yes i would definitely fold...part of the game is following through on your reads and trusting your conclusions, and if you can't do that then you will be paying off way too many bets in the future

  3. i would not of folded, unless it was going to cause a serious dent in your cash. I would of kept going just because he could of been bluffing.

  4. First thing! You can never know for sure!

If you did it would be an easy fold!

Statistically it is very unlikely he has the flush!

But lets say you have very good instincts, then it would be a very impressive fold!

Would I fold? Tournaments almost never! Cash games perhaps, if I get better!

  5. If you are sure he had a flush of course you can fold. You are beat. Why would you even hesitate?

You might have worded the question incorrectly or you really suck at poker because the answer is very obvious.
