Counting cards is technically legal, as far as I know, but casinos (or generally wherever you are playing) will throw you out if they catch you doing it, because the point is to make them a profit, which they can't do if you are consistently winning all their money.

Its a playing strategy how on earth could it be illegal?

Could they arrest you for thinking about what you do when you place a bet? coudl they arrest you for choosing to stand instead of hit because of mathmaticaly solid reasons?  Could they arrest you for leaving the table at a strategic moment becasue all fo the aces had already been dealt?

If they were to arrest anybody, they shoudl arrest the people that are so stupid not to take advantage of obvious information presented at the table.

Its  a playing strategy and its not illegal in any way.
