  1. This is advice from a ex smoker. I've been cigarette free since October 2006.  I smoked for 4 years. The only way she is ever going to quit is for her to WANT to quit badly enough. My biggest problem quitting was that I didn't want to. I enjoyed smoking too much but was getting tons of pressure to quit. I ended up smoking in secret. What finally did it for me is realizing that I was slowly killing myself with every cigarette I smoked. I didn't want to die and having a family history of cancer I quit cold turkey. Gum, Sunflower seeds, rolled up paper, alcohol and food are not the answer. it's just a way to transfer your addiction to some new addiction.  I would highly recommend staying away from your friends who smoke, at least for the first month or so. With a lot of help from God (if you believe) and focusing on other things like taking up Journaling or Singing whatever healthy activity that helps you unwind!

I really hope I helped! I will be praying for your cousin!
