I get cramps in my calf when I kick very quickly and they really annoy me. Does anybody know what I can do to stop this?

  1. dont eat 15 mins b4 u get in and roll ur ankles like around

  2. Don't eat anything about 45 to 60 minutes before swimming

  3. stretch and do warm up laps at a slow pace to warm your calves up before you kick hard.

  4. I think you are probably getting a charley horse (muscle cramp).  This happens to me too.  I've read up on it and it can be caused from lack of potassium.  Bananas, potatoes and orange juice are good sources of potassium.  Also, be sure to stretch your calves prior to exercise.  Unstretched muscles are more prone to cramp.

I just pulled calf muscle (ouch!) and so will definitely be practicing the above tips.
