  1. pure cranberry juice (not the sweetened stuff) is quite acidic, and it makes the urine pH lower..this in turn inhibits bacteria from being able to attach to the lining of the bladder, and thus prevent or reduce the chances of bladder infection.  well..maybe.

Its antioxidant properties...and those of antioxidants as a cure all in general....are over-rated.

It has nothing at all to do with treatment of  H. pylori.  A bacterium tough enough to survive in the stomach isn't going to be bothered by some juice.

You shouldn't have any problems with dairy after treatment for H. pylori

  2. Different drugs have different reactions and effectiveness based on what else it mixes with. Notoriously grapefruit juice reduces effectiveness of a lot of drugs. If your primary care provider told you not to drink cranberry juice, then don't drink cranberry juice. It maybe that it interferes with your meds.

If they said no dairy for two weeks and the two weeks is up, you can plow on into your dairy foods again. Bring on the ice cream!

  3. I think it's because of the acid.  I don't know abt. your other q. tho'.

  4. Personally, I'd take the advice of a suitably qualified medical professional over the advice of strangers on Y!A or on whatever Wikipedia-esque website you've found.
